Solar projects have been popping up across rural Ohio, and members have been voicing their concerns. Earlier this year, the OCWGA Board of Directors opted to research the issue more extensively and explore potential policy.
In June of 2023 a small group was formed of farmers with varying perspectives. Their task was to work together to create a proposed policy on the issue. The group, led by Richland County farmer, Owen Niese, drafted a policy statement, which the entire Board of Directors adopted on November 30, 2023.
This policy directs the work of the Association on this issue and also communicates to lawmakers and others the Association’s stance.
