Public Notice of Nomination and Election for the Ohio Small Grains Marketing Program

DELAWARE, Ohio – The Ohio Small Grains Marketing Program is announcing upcoming elections, overseen by the Ohio Department of Agriculture, for the Ohio Small Grains Marketing Program Board, scheduled for July 2026, in accordance with Section 924.07 of the Ohio Revised Code.

The Ohio Small Grains Marketing Program is a voluntary, self-help initiative that supports Ohio’s grain farmers by funding research, providing education, seeking expanded trade markets, and promoting the quality of Ohio-grown wheat.

The election to the Board will include the following Ohio districts:

District 1: Defiance, Fulton, Lucas, and Williams counties

District 2: Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca, and Wood counties

District 8: Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clermont, Clinton, Darke, Fayette, Greene, Hamilton, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, Warren counties

 

The Nomination Procedure is as follows.

Nominating petitions may be obtained from:

  • Petitions must have at least twenty-five (25) valid signatures from small grains producers residing within the district where the candidate seeks election.
  • Petitions must be returned to the Department of Agriculture by 5:00 m. on June 1, 2026.
  • If only one valid petition is received in a district, no election will be held, and that individual will become the board member.
