Ohio Wheat Economics Study

The Ohio State University Extension is collecting data on the on-farm economics of growing wheat and related double-cropping systems compared to alternative cropping options. Thanks to the generous support of the Ohio Small Grains Marketing Program, we are able to offer a $500 program incentive to eligible farms that complete an analysis of the 2025 cropping year.

Participating farms will be asked to share their financial and production records for the 2025 growing season. All identifying information will be removed, and the data will be compiled into a group summary report showcasing the income and expenses incurred by Ohio farms growing wheat. Income and expenses related to straw or a second crop will also be included to compare these stacked practices with acres that have a single revenue source.
