DELAWARE, Ohio – Ohio farmers are demanding Congress do its job and pass legislation allowing year-round, nationwide sales of E15, delivering long-overdue certainty for farmers, fuel retailers, and drivers.
After nearly two decades of delays, this standalone bill would finally remove barriers to E15 during the summer driving season (June through September).
Commonly sold as Unleaded 88 in Ohio, E15 typically costs $0.20 to $0.30 less per gallon than regular E10 fuel. Recent gas price spikes have pushed savings closer to $0.50 per gallon in many areas across the state.
E15 is approved for 96% of cars and light-duty trucks on the road, has logged more than 100 billion miles, and remains a critical part of Ohio’s agricultural economy. The state is home to seven ethanol plants that create demand for corn, support jobs, and strengthen rural communities.
Now is the time for Congress to act—pass H.R. 1346 and unlock year-round E15 nationwide.
“Farmers need to speak up in a big way,” said Eric Tipton, President of the Ohio Corn & Wheat Growers Association. “The time for action is now. I’m urging every farmer in Ohio to join Ohio Corn & Wheat in this important call to action, contact your members of Congress, and tell them to pass year-round E15 and deliver a Farm Bill—no more delays”.
Act now by visiting the Key Vote Alert to reach out to Congress members and urge them to vote yes on H.R. 1346, which would establish E15 as a nationwide, year-round option.
“We need to get this done,” added Tipton. “When farmers stand together, we are impossible to ignore.”
