DELAWARE, Ohio – President Donald Trump took action Monday to temporarily suspend countervailing duties on certain phosphate fertilizer imports from Morocco, providing needed relief for farmers facing high input costs and ongoing uncertainty in the fertilizer market.
Ohio Corn & Wheat Growers Association President Eric Tipton issued the following statement:
“Ohio Corn & Wheat Growers Association thanks President Trump for acting quickly to help farmers by temporarily suspending countervailing duties on imported phosphate fertilizer. This action directly addresses one of the biggest challenges facing farm families today: the rising cost of growing a crop.
“Now, we need to make this relief permanent. Ohio Corn & Wheat will continue working with our national partners and policymakers to fully repeal these countervailing duties and protect farmers from unnecessary input costs.”
