Ohio Corn & Wheat Applauds Bayer’s Ruveon for Putting Farmers First

DELAWARE, Ohio – Following the announcement that Ruveon, a subsidiary of Bayer, will withdraw its petitions seeking antidumping and countervailing duties on glyphosate imports from China, the Ohio Corn & Wheat Growers Association issued the following statement:

“Ohio Corn & Wheat and our farmer members applaud Ruveon for withdrawing these petitions,” commented Tadd Nicholson, executive director of Ohio Corn & Wheat. “Agricultural organizations across the country made their concerns clear, and it is encouraging to see Ruveon listen to its customers.”

“Farmers are already facing high input costs and tight margins. Adding new duties would have further increased the price of a widely used crop-protection product and made a difficult farm economy even more challenging. We appreciate Ruveon’s willingness to reconsider its position, and we encourage other companies that support existing duties or seek new ones for essential farm inputs to follow Ruveon’s lead. Farmers should not be forced to pay higher prices simply to increase the profits of the companies they depend on.”
