Ohio Corn Checkoff Strengthens Trade Ties with Indonesia

DELAWARE, Ohio— Patty Mann, Chair of the Ohio Corn Checkoff, recently represented Ohio corn growers on a trade mission to Jakarta, Indonesia, as part of an effort to expand markets and strengthen global demand for Ohio grain.

The mission aligned with the Southeast Asia U.S. Agricultural Cooperators Conference, September 14 – 20, 2025, and brought together U.S. suppliers, regional importers, and end-users in Southeast Asia.

Indonesia is one of the fastest-growing feed markets, with a rapid increase in demand for corn and distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS). In July, the White House announced the framework of a trade agreement with Indonesia, which includes a commitment to increase imports of agricultural products to the country.

“Being able to represent Ohio farmers on this mission was both an honor and an investment in our future,” said Patty Mann, Chair of the Ohio Corn Checkoff.

This trade mission was a critical step in strengthening the relationship between American farmers and the decision-makers who rely on grain to feed and fuel their country. During the visit, Mann and representatives from the U.S. Grains and Bioproducts Council engaged in important discussions with government officials, buyers, and importers, building trust and showing the reliability of U.S. grain.

“I had the opportunity to sit down across the table from international buyers and talk to them about the great work Ohio farmers are doing”, added Mann. “Every conversation we had in Indonesia helps create new demand for our corn.”

By participating in trade missions like this, the Ohio Corn Checkoff delivers on its mission to build demand for Ohio’s corn growers. Discover more about how the Ohio Corn Checkoff is working on behalf of farmers at www.ohiocornandwheat.org.
