Emerging Leaders Program
Ohio Corn & Wheat takes seriously the process of developing individuals to step into important leadership roles. This is one of the reasons we continue to host an Emerging Leaders’ Summit annually. This three-day program mentors and educates people interested in becoming more active in agriculture matters, discovering leadership opportunities, or finding themselves on the pathway to becoming members of the Corn Marketing Board, Wheat Marketing Board, or Ohio Corn & Wheat Growers Association.
Ohio Corn & Wheat focuses on finding, training, and growing leaders to help make an impact now and for future generations.

The Emerging Leaders Program encourages and prepares individuals to take the next step in their involvement in the decision-making process of our boards and actively participate in meaningful discussions and issues that impact all producers.
The 3-day program helps participants develop skills in leadership, communications, advocacy, and more. This immersive experience teaches participants about networking, communications, advocacy, and taking the next steps to be someone Ohio growers can count on to represent their needs and concerns.
Collegiate Policy Academy
The Collegiate Policy Academy connects college students with public policy leaders in Columbus and Washington, D.C., along with networking and professional development opportunities. The 2025 class is made up of 10 Ohio college-age students interested in exploring agriculture as a career after completing their education.

- To offer college aged students the opportunity to experience the national legislative efforts of growers.
- To introduce young student leaders to Ohio legislators in Washington DC.
- To allow collegiate agriculture leaders the opportunity to network with growers, state staff from other states, and get to know and interact with national corn and wheat staff members.
Obligations
Collegiate leaders selected for this program will be asked to commit to participation and attendance at various events including, but not limited to, the Washington, DC mission, professional development and networking events, as well as be a part of a two-day orientation prior to the start of their commitment.
