DENVER, Colorado – United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Brooke Rollins addressed a crowd of over a thousand farmers at the 2025 Commodity Classic in Denver.
Rollins outlined her vision for America’s heartland and promised to chart a new course for the country’s agriculture industry.
“My job is to make agriculture great again. Who’s with me?” exclaimed Rollins from the main stage of the trade show at Commodity Classic in Denver, Colorado.
Rollins was confirmed as the USDA Secretary by the United States Senate on February 13, 2025. Since her confirmation, she has stated that she has been touring the country, talking to hundreds of farmers and hearing the same issues and concerns everywhere she goes. She acknowledged the struggles of the country’s grain producers and told the crowd that President Donald Trump is aware that they are struggling too.
“We will not accept the failed policies of the past as excuses for what we can and must achieve over the next four years. We will not tolerate needless delays or layers of bureaucracy to get you the answers that you need and you deserve. And we won’t stop at repairing systems that have long been broken,” said Rollins, and went on to promise “we will usher in a new era of prosperity and opportunity, innovation and revitalization in rural America.
Several policy announcements were also revealed by Rollins while she was on the stage. Among them, working to distribute ten billion dollars in economic assistance funds to farmers impacted by drought and extreme weather, passed by Congress in December 2024.
She also recognized the need for the development and passage of a true five year farm bill, and promised to deliver one by the end of year.
But it was her promise of tax reform that received a big ovation from the crowd.
“As President Trump works with Congress to extend and perhaps even expand the tax cuts. I will work alongside him to repeal the death tax once and for all,” proclaimed Rollins.
Saying that among her top priorities as USDA Secretary is to help save family farms.
Prior to taking the stage at the Commodity Class Trade Show, Rollins held a press conference with members of the media. Ohio Corn & Wheat was in attendance and captured the full interview. You can hear the press conference in it’s entirety by clicking on the audio.
