(Washington, D.C.) -After three focused and demanding days in the nation’s capital, leaders from the Ohio Corn & Wheat Growers Association (OCWGA), Collegiate Policy Academy students, and industry partners have wrapped up their March 2026 mission to Washington, D.C., a mission driven by purpose, urgency, and a clear message: farmers are done waiting, and they expect Congress to deliver results.
Throughout the fly-in, farmer leaders stepped away from their operations, families, and busy schedules to advocate on behalf of their peers. They carried firsthand experiences from the field into meaningful, one-on-one conversations with members of Congress and key staff.
At the center of every meeting were three clear priorities:
-
Securing nationwide, year-round access to E15 to expand domestic demand and provide certainty for farmers and consumers
-
Advancing a modern farm bill that reflects today’s economic realities and challenges facing agriculture
-
Ensuring the renewal of the USMCA trade agreement to protect and strengthen critical export markets
On the final day of the mission, the group met with Ohio Senator Jon Husted, continuing the conversation on these priorities while also addressing rising input costs and the need for long-term solutions that support farm viability.
“I am so proud of the work this team accomplished this week while in Washington, D.C.,” commented Eric Tipton, President of the Ohio Corn & Wheat Growers Association. “Our farmers and CPAs represented the needs and concerns of our growers in Ohio. We came to Washington, D.C. on a mission to engage, educate, and get results. When farmers show up, policymakers listen.”
