The U.S. Department of Agriculture has released additional details on the commodity-by-commodity national payment rates under the one-time Farmer Bridge Assistance Program (FBA), providing short-term financial support to eligible farmers facing continued economic pressure from low commodity prices and high input costs.
Under the program, corn growers nationwide will receive $44.36 per eligible acre. This represents a modest increase compared to the previous Emergency Commodity Assistance Program, under which corn was paid at $42.91 per acre. USDA has indicated that qualifying farmers can expect payments by the end of February 2026.
For wheat growers, the USDA announced a payment rate of $39.35 per planted acre. The rate reflects the ongoing challenges wheat producers faced in 2025, including persistently low prices and historically high input costs.
Ohio corn and wheat farmers who believe they may qualify for the Farmer Bridge Assistance Program are encouraged to review program details and eligibility requirements and to stay in contact with their local USDA Farm Service Agency office.
