DELAWARE, Ohio – John Linder, a lifelong farmer, national agriculture leader, and advocate for Ohio’s grain industry through his service on the Ohio Corn & Wheat Growers Association board, was inducted into the Ohio Agricultural Hall of Fame on August 1 at the Ohio State Fairgrounds. The ceremony also honored John H. Davis, Bill Isler, and Steven D. Maurer for their contributions to Ohio agriculture.
Linder, who farms with his family near Edison, Ohio, is a past president of the National Corn Growers Association and past chair of the Ohio Corn Checkoff.
“I am deeply honored by this recognition, but this award is really about the people and the industry that have shaped my life for more than 40 years,” said Linder. “I’ve been fortunate to work alongside dedicated farmers and ag leaders who care deeply about feeding the world.”
Tadd Nicholson, executive director of Ohio Corn & Wheat, praised Linder’s decades of service.
“John’s induction into the Ohio Agricultural Hall of Fame is a fitting tribute to a man who has dedicated his life to agriculture, leadership, and mentoring the next generation,” said Nicholson. “He’s been a tireless advocate for Ohio farmers and has inspired others to lead.”
The Ohio Agricultural Hall of Fame has recognized individuals since 1966. Linder joins more than 250 esteemed leaders who have received the honor.
U.S. Congressman Jim Jordan submitted a statement of recognition into the official Congressional Record, honoring all four inductees for their contributions to agriculture. A copy of the record is included with this statement and highlights Linder’s leadership and lifelong advocacy on behalf of Ohio farmers at the state, national, and international levels.
