Student Scholarships

Ohio Corn & Wheat invests in the future of our industry by supporting the next generation. Our scholarship program encourages undergraduate students at Ohio colleges and universities to pursue degrees in one of the many academic fields that support the future of the corn and small grain industries including agriculture, business, communication, economics, education, science and technology.

Eligibility

  1. Member of Ohio Corn & Wheat Growers Association. Can apply for membership at time of application submission.
  2. Applicants must be enrolled as a full-time student at an Ohio college or university by the fall of 2021.
  3. Eligible majors include biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, molecular biology, chemistry, engineering, biotechnology, bioenergy, biofuels, food science, political science, crop science, environmental science, agricultural communications, agricultural business, agricultural education or any of the agricultural disciplines or related fields.
  4. Applicants must also demonstrate the desire to pursue a career related to the corn and wheat industry and/or agriculture.
  5. Applicants must have proof of legal residency in the state of Ohio.
  6. Scholarship funds are to be used directly for tuition, fees, lab fees and books.
  7. Scholarship funds will be awarded to the student.
  8. Scholarship is not renewable.
  9. Scholarship will only be rewarded one time per person.

Selection Process

A committee of Ohio Corn & Wheat board and staff members will select scholarship winners. Scholarship recipients will be notified by February 15, 2021. The scholarship is to be used for the 2021-2022 school year.

 

Deadline

All applications must be received via the submission form below no later than December 31, 2020. Please include three recommendation letters, one regarding the applicant’s academic abilities; one regarding the applicant’s professional qualifications; and one that speaks to the applicant’s personal qualities. Letters must come from three different people. Letters may not be written by the applicant, anyone under 21 years of age, or anyone related to the applicant or serving as a legal guardian. Please include contact information for each reference.
