Ohio Corn & Wheat (OCW) is pleased to welcome its new intern, Kiley Holbrook. Over the next nine months, Holbrook will have the opportunity to gain practical work experience while assisting with OCW’s educational, communications, and policy activities. In addition to coordinating and facilitating internal meetings, she will also provide support and administrative action for major events like the Ohio Grain Farmer Symposium, Celebration of Ohio Corn & Wheat, Collegiate Policy Academy and Ohio FFA State Convention.

Holbrook is currently a student at The Ohio State University, studying agricultural communication and public policy. She brings administration and communication experience to her new role, having served as a student visit coordinator in the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences’ Office of Prospective Students. Earlier this year, she served as legislative page in the Ohio House of Representatives.

“The Ohio Corn & Wheat internship program allows college students with an interest in corn and small grains to gain invaluable real-world experience toward their career,” said Tadd Nicholson, executive director of OCW. “We believe Kiley’s prior experiences, communication skills and willingness to learn will make her an incredible asset to the OCW team during her time as an intern.”

Holbrook is a clear leader in agriculture and her community, having been chosen as a Farm Credit Mid-America Scholar and Mount Leadership Society Scholar at The Ohio State University. She graduated as salutatorian from Amanda-Clearcreek High School, where she was active in student council, marching band and FFA.

“I’m very passionate about the agriculture industry, and I can’t think of a better organization to work with than Ohio Corn & Wheat,” said Holbrook. “I look forward to working with OCW staff on behalf of Ohio corn and small grain farmers over the next several months.”
