Last week the Ohio Corn Checkoff, Ohio Small Grains Checkoff and Ohio Corn & Wheat Growers Association boards gathered at Ohio State University’s Agricultural Technical Institute in Wooster for their annual board retreat. At the meeting the board of directors evaluated OCW’s projects, met with the interim director of Lake Erie’s Stone Lab, and engaged in a national water quality discussion with industry leaders. Individually, each board set their priorities for the year and took part in a board self-evaluation.
As a team-building activity, the directors were divided into six teams for a “Chopped” challenge and “Cupcake Wars.” The winning “Chopped” team made sliders. The winning “Cupcake Wars” team created Trans-Pacific Partnership cupcakes to fit the “around the world” theme.
The retreat concluded with Ohio Corn & Wheat committee meetings.
